Story

I was living in a fairly metro part of the northeast US when I wrote this, and was longing for clearer skies, cleaner air. And I also was looking for clarity in my my own life vision!

Story

"I think there's nothing quite as sexy as a sundress! Sundresses seem to burst on the summer scene like flowers suddenly blooming. This was written during a hot, glorious stretch of summer."

Story

"I had a groundhog living beneath the shed in my back yard for a while. My neighbor wasn't too happy about it and frequently suggested that I do something about it. But I kind of liked having the little critter around. When I suddenly stopped seeing the groundhog I wondered why... This is a fantasy about my groundhog taking control of the situation."

Story

"While in a restaurant I observed an elderly couple at the table next to me. She appeared to be in the early stages of Alzheimer's and her husband was so gentle with her and she loving in return. It got me thinking, and this song was the result. I deliberately mixed sad lyrics with uptempo music as a way of embodying how love can go and uplift even in the toughest circumstances."

Story

"This song came from an article I read in the New York Times one Tuesday morning, about how the european 'siesta' was steadily disappearing while at the same time more progressive American companies were recommending lunchtime rest breaks or naps. I thought this was a fun theme for a song--change happens and things have a way of coming full circle."
